The Patriarchy Oppressing More Women

As we all know, the Patriarchy is like totes for really reals, which is why in times of danger and bloodshed, we can expect these sad stories of women dying while shielding their boyfriends from harm's way.

So, RIP, to Jon Bunk, Alex Teves, and Matt McQuinn, who despite the patriarchy's indifference towards the safety, station and progress of women rose up against the system and died shielding their girlfriends from the rain of gunfire that killed 12 innocent people.

Or maybe, just perhaps, the Patriarchy is entirely a fabrication of the minds of a few deluded women who find every reason under the sun to excuse away their lack of personal capacity.

Edit:  having scoured the slums (FTB, skepchick, etc) I can't help but notice that none of them is today complaining about the paternalistic white-knighting so egregiously on display in Aurora.  Perhaps after they've overcome the pain and bereavement they're suffering upon learning of the horrible events leaving these unfortunate women traumatized for life, our pioneering heroes will muster up the strength to condemn the dead men for their terribly improvident, flagrant showing off male privilege.

If Hanna Rosin has no problem with this sort of self-sacrifice, it's unclear to me why other feminists would.

Yes, I too wanted to congratulate all the women who - there weren't? None did? Oh.

Excellent post, and yet none of the "feminist" blogs is showcasing these events.

OK, now I don't know which of your blogs to link to from mine.  This one or the other?

Okey, it is now done. Have you seen John Loftus's new project? It's www.skepticblogs.com (musings from the left, blah, blah). That's where I'm at and quite happy there.

If I had to recommend just one essay on this whole mess it would be your "The Paranoid Agenda". What a clever, insightful, intelligent, humorous, candid perspective! Far superior to anything I could ever write. I suppose that's
why I feel scared and threatened by you, and, by extension, all women
which, of course, means that I hate you all. You see, my privilege prevents me from
having any respect for groups of people who include individuals with
qualities superior to mine. That's why I hate blacks, Jews, gays,
children, plumbers, Puerto Ricans, the left-handed, Republicans, flight attendants, guys named "Phil", and people who don't like cats.

I wonder if this is to rectify the initial news outbreak after the shooting, where almost every article you searched, to find the names of the victims who were killed, turned up only Jessica Redfield. My first thought: "of course, report on the chick, not the 11 others". My cynicism, on closer inspection, was ameliorated by the obvious hook... she had narrowly avoided another public shooter in toronto months earlier. I'm sure the irony of her death put her out as the first of the victims to be hailed in the press by name.

As for the article to which you linked, ugh. A dead man is a good hero? No, he's just dead. Was it nobility or instinct? Was it self-sacrifice, or an extension of a biological imperative. Only they could have know that. But we won't, for certain, cause, yo... they dead. But as far as the media's take on it... ugh.

Infotainment wins again, slathering a thick layer of smarm on a tragedy to cast some kind of poetic and beautiful bias on a cold truth. And showing what a good man ought to be... a slug shield for the ladies!

Maybe now that they're dead, women can have their jobs.

When are you going to make another blog post? or should I comment on your youtube videos instead?

Really? Come on, comparing people's instinct to consensually protect someone they cared about to the suppression of consent in the patriarchy? I'm with Anna Bucci, shit-tay blog post, like totes for really reals.

Atheism is not a product, some see fit to try to profit from swinging this title or ideology, related swag or donation account (much like what you claim to despise within the churches). There is plenty of diversity. You don't see it because you want conformity. Why would people not want to be associated with your movement? BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU. Since when the f--- was Atheism about joining? (joining a belief not to believe). Atheism and philosophy don't mix well particularly with the late-to-the-internet youtube/blog folks that are socially inept in the real world. The proof is the offspring of assumptive authority on everything and anything. The blog and vid posts (of these "enlightened" ones) are going to make for great case studies for mental illness to say the least.

The Justicar said...

I must have missed where I claimed to despise churches receiving donations. Perhaps there's someone else on the internet you could argue with inasmuch as your complaint here is not reflective of my position - at least the bits of it which are coherent.

Feminists claim the idea of the "disposable male" is false, they do this while ignoring evidence of it, such as the case here. ironically their behaviour then provides more evidence for the idea of the "disposable male"

Taking family strolls or even sitting down to eat dinner together to discuss the day's events all help to increase the strength of a family.
Well, the answer is actually pretty simple - getting pregnant is not one solution away, several things have to happen at the same time.

So in place of strolling at a continuous tempo for say an hour,
you'd probably change points up by alternating short bursts of extreme walking for say a minute followed by a recovery time period with slower walking immediately after each extreme period. Just hold alternating for 20 minutes to begin and add time as you develop into additional match. It is possible to use interval teaching with all phases from thegreen coffee bean extract to boost your success.

Also when you do any form of workout it is strongly encouraged that you simply drink plenty of water before for the duration of and following to maintain your system correctly hydrated.

Yeah, there's no problem with misogyny in the atheist/skeptic movement. All women who fail in life fail because of their own individual agency, because those smart libertarians all tell us that nothing exists except individual agency, and I just believe everything they say because they've read, you know, books and stuff.
