Metaphors NOT to Use, for like, duh!

So, I'm not the kind of guy to pull many punches with my rhetoric.  I analyze things very carefully (some problems I'll study for years before I publicly comment at all), and then I argue the topics in a way that seems to best account for all of the information available to me. Then there are casual conversations where someone will ask me a random, run of the mill question, and we start just flapping our gums.  In my vast number of years I've long known that I'd make a lousy politician because I say things like I don't care what people feel about an issue. I care what the facts are.

Honesty doesn't appear to be particularly useful in politics.  Also, I'm not diplomatic. If you say something stupid, I'll note it to your face and elsewhere. 

Representative Giffords returned to the Congress to vote on the debt ceiling increase measure (which is normally passed pro forma without much comment at all).  You may recall that she was shot through the head back in January, and through a very fortunate series of events came out of it about as well as you could hope to come out of a gunshot to the head.  The geometry was good, the force dissipation out the back of her head was good, her surgeons apparently were good.

Anyway, it was emotional to see her walk onto the House floor yesterday so soon after being shot in the head.  Many interviews have been had.

I'm particularly impressed by Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz's interview with Anderson Cooper. No doubt a careful observer of all things delicate, Wasserman Schultz notes that Gabbie was just the shot in the arm the Congress needed.
